Desiree, Exhibit This

This week has been categorically disastrous for Roc Nation, Desiree Perez, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and every single entity associated with their increasingly controversial brand. From Nicki Minaj amplifying Demoree Hadley's allegations against her former drug-trafficking mother, Desiree Perez, to Beyoncé almost recreating Sophie Xeon's last performance, calling this a "categorically disastrous week" is an understatement.

But what I want to focus on is how the entire media apparatus and Nicki Minaj haters have been operating in a manner so counterproductive to their likely goal that it’s genuinely hilarious to witness.

The media's deafening silence regarding Demoree Hadley's explosive allegations against her mother, the CEO of Roc Nation, is so glaringly suspicious that it defies rational explanation. The sheer explosiveness of these accusations alone should have every outlet salivating with predatory enthusiasm, their newsrooms practically vibrating with adrenaline-fueled excitement. Perhaps no media outlet has heard about it? That seems very unlikely, but just in case they haven't, I've made it my personal mission, after speaking directly with Demoree, to place her on every conceivable outlet, show, and YouTube channel in existence.

I maintain professional relationships with several individuals at Fox News, MSNBC, and countless other outlets. I regularly communicate with numerous commentators, journalists, writers, TV hosts, and producers across the industry. Without fail, every single time I mention the severity and scope of this case, they become visibly electrified. I can practically visualize the predatory look in their eyes as they mentally calculate the ratings these allegations represent. They express genuine enthusiasm and seem genuinely eager to provide coverage. But the precise moment I reveal who these allegations concern, everything shuts down. The excitement evaporates instantly.

They slowly retreat from their previously eager energy and begin manufacturing increasingly ridiculous excuses: "Oh, I'm really busy," "I'll review this and get back to you" (they never do), "I just remembered my mother died a month ago and I'm probably late to her funeral," or they simply stop responding entirely. Half of them never even responded, which tells me they probably heard about this case.

I don't think I need to articulate why one woman, or one company, terrifies so many supposedly independent news outlets. Wasn't this already glaringly obvious from observing how these same outlets, YouTubers, and writers react to people Roc Nation despises versus people signed or managed by Roc Nation? Nicki Minaj could blink incorrectly and there would be documentaries analyzing how that blink constitutes shade toward female rappers. Nicki could tweet "hi" and be accused of writing an unhinged "coke rant."

Nicki Minaj posting photos of Chucky already has most of these people’s blood pressure shooting through the roof. Every time Nicki Minaj posts a photo of Chucky to her X profile with no caption at all, they start foaming at the mouth, shaking, red, tomato-faced, and furious because they’re convinced that the photo of Chucky smiling or laughing has to be her laughing at them, the person they stan, or just throwing shade at someone. The fact that a plastic doll can send grown adults into hysterical meltdowns is perhaps the most damning indictment of their collective mental state imaginable.

And, as I correctly predicted when Nicki first tweeted about Demoree, this entire situation has created a magnificently conflicting dilemma for mainstream media and online haters alike. Yes, most of them are compulsively tweeting, publishing articles, and making hit-piece videos about what Nicki said regarding Demoree, framing everything in the most negative light possible. But the ironic element is that very action: They're writing about Nicki’s statements concerning Demoree.

These people remain pathologically incapable of resisting their compulsive urge to write hate tweets about Nicki Minaj, make videos dissecting her every move, or publish breathlessly indignant articles condemning her existence, and in their obsessive fixation on Nicki and their desperate need to cover every syllable she utters, they're forced to reference Demoree, and through this process, they're inadvertently validating every single point Nicki has made about Roc Nation, particularly for anyone intellectually curious enough to look up what's actually transpiring with Desiree Perez and Demoree once they've finished consuming their predictably biased content.

Their visceral hatred for Nicki Minaj has monumentally backfired, trapping them in a corner where they've become the primary architects of the very spotlight they so desperately wanted to keep away from this situation.

It's slowly being disseminated through gossip blogs desperately attempting to make Nicki look unhinged, which has inadvertently made other people and content creators who focus on celebrity gossip increasingly aware of the Demoree allegations against Desiree. One of the largest gossip and news YouTube channels for urban and pop entertainment, "Empressive," has published a video covering this story, and it was exceptionally well-done. More and more creators are beginning to produce videos about this previously forbidden case.

So please, continue tweeting. Keep making those insufferably retarded videos. Keep writing those really stupid articles. You’re not just doing half our work for us; you’re doing it more effectively than we ever could, and with a level of unwitting dedication that’s genuinely impressive.

Profound gratitude to Nicki Minaj, the Barbz, Demoree Hadley, and every single individual who possessed the courage to interview Demoree, knowingly risking demonetization, suspension, blackballing, shadowbanning, and countless other forms of punishment for covering this case.

And of course, special acknowledgment to the Nicki Minaj haters, you extremely predictable creatures have been absolutely instrumental in amplifying this story. Your inability to resist obsessively covering every aspect of Nicki Minaj's existence has inadvertently transformed you into the most effective promotional machine we could have possibly imagined. Thank you!
